ZKTeco has founded an Innovation Center in Silicon Valley. Its expert team consists of scientists from high-tech companies such as Apple, Google and Cisco. Researches include contactless biometrics, deep learning platform, AI platform and international cloud infrastructure. Members of the innovation team have been devoted to their specialized fields for many years, gaining rich R&D and allocation experiences.
Richard Chen
Chief of ZKTeco’s Central Biometric Research Center
• Graduated from the discipline of Application in Mathematics in Lanzhou University, and started researching in algorithms such as computer image processing and pattern recognition
• One of the earliest researchers who studies face recognition algorithm
• Inventor of ZKTeco’s self-developed fingerprint, face, finger vein, palm vein, and iris recognition algorithm, who owns various national and international patents
• Recently concentrated on researching on application of biometric characteristic recognition and AI
• Expert committee member of SAC/TC100/SC2, and expert of the Biometric Recognition Application Group of China Security & Protection Industry Association (CSPIA), participating in the organization and review standardized by the government regarding fingerprint and face recognition
David Li
ZKTeco’s CTO
• Awarded the master degree of Foundations of Mathematics from the Lanzhou University
• With abundant research and application experience in various biometric recognition technologies including fingerprint, face, finger vein, palm and iris recognition. Various research outcomes have been awarded national or international patents
• Responsible for overall formulating development direction of technology and R&D strategy, setting strategic development of internet cloud platform and IoT platform based on security and time management
• Takes charge of the technology innovation and pre-development of core biometric products, and the design and development of central platform hardware/firmware system technical architecture
• Takes charge of developing single and multiple modals of image collecting device based on fingerprint, NIR face, finger vein, palm and iris, which are applied to a wide range of products and granted various international PCT patents and national patents
